Premium Scanning
White glove service for your photos!
I use a super high-quality 50MP SLR and lens combination to scan your photos, slides, negatives and memorabilia. This is a great setup for taking the highest quality scans at the fastest possible speeds. (For reference most smartphone cameras are 12MP).
All images are scanned at the industry standard of 600dpi (or much higher) and are delivered in the client's preferred format - jpg, tif or DNG. Added bonus, with a camera setup, it's possible to scan 360 photos in an hour - something that just isn't possible with even the most high-end consumer scanners - so turnaround time can be super-quick if time is an issue.
Added to that, your photos aren't fed through a scanner with rollers, that can harm some photos - especially if they jam. Such machines should also be cleaned frequently as the machines dust which then causes dots and streaks on your photos.
I'm also able to shoot your memorabilia and outsize items as they are not required to fit under a lid.
Finally, for all scanning projects, I can quickly and easily 'develop' your images - cropping and editing so they look their best without sacrificing speed. Suppliers usually charge extra for this premium-style service but mine is included in my regular price.
Pricing
'Scan-ready' print or slide = $0.50 per item
Scan-ready' negatives = $0.75 per item
Photo albums or scrapbooks = $75 per hour since they vary widely
One-time setup fee of $25.00 as it takes time to properly reset equipment for your particular project.
If you have an 'albums-only' project with a number of similar albums I'm happy to scan one album and then provide an estimate for the rest.
'scan ready'?
Your prints, slides and negatives will need to be prepared in order for me to deliver the best results - but don't worry - I'll provide you with a few simple instructions and plenty of useful ideas on organizing for the big handover. There's a lot of flexibility with this as prints, negatives and slides are stored in a seemingly infinite number of ways - my own were all in paper bags(!) - so no worries - we'll just work together to a point where I can scan your items with maximum efficiency and optimal results. I love when clients discover photos they've either not seen for decades if ever - revealing those hidden treasure is the best!
